There's probably no need to explain the significance of Cheers... this is the pub that served as the inspiration for the setting of the popular television show that ran original episodes on NBC from 1982 to 1993. Cheers on Beacon Hill features a broad selection of upscale pub food, offers generous happy hour specials on weekday evenings, and plays host to live entertainment on a regular basis. If you want to "go where everybody knows your name" believe it or not, Cheers is not the place. Formerly known as the Bull & Finch Pub (after notable architect and patriot Charles Bulfinch), the basement-level bar/restaurant on the north side of Boston Public Garden has become more of a tourist attraction than a friendly neighborhood hangout. That's not to say, however, that you should skip out on the opportunity to visit this iconic bar when you're visiting Boston.
