Our Condo's Unique Configuration

Please note that Beacon Hill is a very old neighborhood. Our building was constructed in the 19th century and the condo was converted from a storefront in the mid 1980s. The conversion created a space that has a lot of character and feels much bigger than the square footage would indicate. Consequently, as is fairly common with local architecture, the space is not laid out in a typical one-bedroom configuration. Please keep in mind that none of our guests have ever had issue with the layout... regardless, so as not to set false expectations, there are a few things you should know before commiting to rent our vacation home:

  • The stairs leading to the lower-level bedroom are relatively narrow and steep. If you have difficulties walking or negotating standard staircases, this might not be the place for you.

  • The bedroom ceiling is low. I am 6'1" tall and have full clearance without bending over though anyone taller might have to hunch a bit.

  • The ceiling height in the loft is approximately four feet. Kids love rolling around up there and there's plenty of clearance for adults to move about on hands and knees and sit up in bed.
