Located within the Mary Baker Eddy Library, Mapparium is a three-story stained glass globe that visitors view from the inside while standing on a thirty foot long glass bridge. Built between April 1934 and June 1935, the Mapparium globe is make up of 608 glass panels held in place by a spherical bronze frame. The globe is illuminated from the outside via 300 light bulbs. Political boundaries and geographic features are true to a 1934 world map.
