Located in Quincy, Adams National Historic Park hosts eleven historic structures that are part of the history of the Adams family who resided there from 1787 to 1927. Most prominent on the 75 acre estate are the homes and birthplaces of the United States' second and sixth presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams as well as the 14,000 volume Stone Library which is believed to the first Presidential Library in the country. Both former presidents, along with their First Ladies, are entombed in the nearby United First Parish Church which is not part of Adams National Historic Park.
The park's visitors center is located off-site, adjacent to the Quincy Center T Station which services the MBTA's Red Line. Trolley service is provided between the visitor's center and the park which is located approximately one half mile north. Visitors may tour the park on their own, however, entrance to the historic homes is by guided tour only.
