Symphony HallDue to its exceptional acoustics, Boston's Symphony Hall is widely considered to be one of the two or three finest concert halls in the world. Opened on October 15, 1900, the hall is a long, narrow, high shape in Renaissance style architecture. The interior features wooden floors, leather seats original to 1900, and a front stage that was replaced in 2006 at a cost of $250,000. Above the stage, Beethoven's name is inscribed; it is the only musician's name in the building. A 4,800 pipe organ was installed in Symphony Hall in 1949 and is considered one of the finest in the world.

Symphony hall is home to both the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. Capacity for Pops performances is 2,371 whereas it is increased to 2,625 for the Symphony. The building can also be set up to accommodate social functions, including dinners for up to 800 individuals.
